WFBM, a non-commercial, educational radio network was established to provide its listening area with inspirational and educational family-oriented programming and music, as well as community-based news, weather, local events, and programs which will strengthen both family and community. WFBM’s financial account, in its entirety, is funded by donations from the listening community.
Established in 2004 as a 100 watt low power FM station, WFBM began broadcasting a format of Gospel music and Bible preaching through the valley as a ministry of Beaver Springs Faith Baptist Church.
Listeners on the fringe areas began asking for better reception in their vicinities so they could enjoy the Christian radio station also.
“Expanding for Heaven in 2011” was the theme that kicked off the growth of local outreach from 100 watts to obtaining two more frequencies and towers where the output increased to 1500 watts and now covers the areas including:
- Beaver Springs/Richfield on WFBM, 90.5 FM
- Kulpmont/Mt. Carmel in Northumberland County on WFBA 90.5 FM
- Susquehanna Valley region of Selinsgrove at WFBV 90.1 FM
This Gospel Radio network of three stations forms Wonderful Faith Bible Ministries, an outreach of Beaver Springs Faith Baptist Church.
Our Main Events
Sharathon, 2021, is coming up Thursday, January 28 through Sunday, January 31. Some of the features will look different with the challenges of COVID 19, but with careful precautions, we will do our best to provide a few of our favorite activities. We will not be serving eat-in meals, but you can come by to give your donation and pick up the incentives you earn, observe the live broadcast of Stand In The Gap on Friday, January 29, and enjoy live and virtual interviews and Gospel concerts. Listen for updates for each day’s activities on your “Light in our Community” WFBM Radio Network, 90.1 and 90.5 fm.
A special addition to our line up will be Revival services with Stand In The Gap team member, Evangelist Dave Kistler. We will have 7:00 pm services Monday through Wednesday, February 1 through 3. Experience the dynamic preaching of God’s Word presented with relevance to the days in which we live.
Raise the Region in March – THANK YOU TO EVERY PERSON WHO MADE THE EFFORT TO GO ONLINE TO RAISE THE REGION AND HELP WFBM RAISE $1,300 during the 30-hour annual fundraiser. First Community Partnership Foundation makes this event possible for over 300 non-profits in our region. YOU as individual donors help WFBM meet their budgeted needs.
Special Projects – Expanding the outreach and upkeep of equipment is ongoing, but sometimes a special need or emergency repair comes up. This is when WFBM’s listening family goes the extra mile to supply the need. Generally, Denny Mallonee, the General Manger and Pastor of Faith Baptist Church, will notify listeners with on-air announcements or through a letter in your mailbox when extraordinary expenses occur. It is a joy to serve our listeners and we attempt to do that as effectively and consistently as possible. Your response to these special needs over the years has made the growth and outreach of WFBM possible.
Concerts – As able, we love to bring your favorite Southern Gospel Music to you, live, with concerts at Faith Baptist Church, home of WFBM. Watch for announcements as some of the favorite Gospel Quartets come to Central PA where you can see live performances and meet the groups personally.
